How could you even claim such a thing? How could i quote wrong prices? I offered links as proff and specified those are prices IN MY COUNTRY. I don't know what your trying to pull but i never mentioned anything about Core i3 560 or Phenom II 955, i said Core i3 540 and Phenom II 945 and my point was that Intel platform with a dual core is as expensive as an AMD platform with a Phenom II quad core, thus AMD in my opinion has the best platform price/performance at that price level. By platform i mean CPU plus motherboard.

...As always, the battle will be on the value front and i hope AMD can again deliver like it has been doing for so long. As for me, Intel’s 'K' variants seem to be priced pretty fairly. I think locking the overclocking to just those chips is going to annoy a lot of people but also make Intel an awful lot of money. No more turning an $80 chip into a $600 beast, if you want the performance you have to pay for it. Time to buy Intel shares!!

I agree with the people that are comparing Bulldozer against mid-range Sandy Bridge, i think at stock speeds they will be fairly competitive with one another. But i just don't understand why some people seem to be getting excited that the very best AMD has to offer, an 8-core CPU, might be able to beat Intel's mid-range 4-core CPUs. The biggest issue for AMD is that in a perfect world Bulldozer would have been out 2 years ago. And the CPU world has moved on in those 2 years. I am sure there have tweaks and improvements to what would have come out 2 years ago but all the same, a product this late is going to be starting on the back foot from the get-go....

Proff that a dual core Core i3+ mobo costs about the same as a AMD quad core+mobo (in my country): Core i3 540 449 RON http://www.dc-shop.ro/INTEL-CORE-I3-540-BX80616I3540-prod-20732.htm GIGABYTE GA-P55-US3L,LGA1156 335 RON http://www.dc-shop.ro/Placa-de-baza-GIGABYTE-GA-P55-US3L-prod-20477.htm 784 RON Intel solution AMD Phenom II 945 125W 503 RON http://www.dc-shop.ro/AMD-AM3-PhenomII-X4-945-HDX945WFGIBOX-prod-18572.htm ASROCK M3A770DE 259 http://www.dc-shop.ro/Placa-de-baza-Asrock-M3A770DE-prod-19895.htm 762 AMD solution 1Euro = ~ 4,2 RON And as i said before i feel like Intel is holding back on frequencies altough their CPUs will be capable of achieving far higher clocks.

From what i noticed, Intel is holding back on the frequencies, probably for higher yields. Also if i understood right all non K series will be locked (you will not be able to overclock them). As far as prices go i won't comment just yet, i'll wait untill i see them listed online. From experience i can say they will be alot more expensive in my country due to VAT alone. I still wanna see them benched and find out how the low and mid end stacks up against current offerings from both sides. Right now i could buy a Core i3 540 but when i add up the price of the mobo i realize that a AMD quad core+mobo costs the same making the Intel sollution pale in comparison. Regardless of opinions Q1 2011 will surely be interesting for a computer geek looking for upgrades.

Ah! I didn't spot that! :-* You wouldn't want to drop an AM3+ chip in to an AM3 motherboard any way, it's better to use an older AM3 chip and wait until prices and more mature stepping are released.

[quote name="JAB Creations"]An actually sweet/affordable Intel mobo and it's Gigabyte with a lot of USB 3.0 ports. Here is your linkage: http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1956 that mobo sure is great BUT for 340$ it's not really sweet/affordable mobo my friend, you need to find something in 150/200$ price range, that would be better option for sweet/affordable. Also Bulldozer CPU will not work on current AMD mobos. i5 2500K looks like the ONE to get
