I been wanting to buy a new phone for about a year, sick of the Touch HD. When I read a detailed analysis of the Tegra 2 what is amazing is the CPU/GPU performance vs power ratio, this is simply an amazing amazing chip and it is so sad it has taken this long to see the light of day. Just shows you how completely clueless the phone manufacture industry is. I will be buying a Tegra2 based phone when they come out.

Let's look at it this way, DX came because windows had a big share in the market and games were focused on this platform. But in mobile market we have apple, google, microsoft and RIM fighting for market share so we don't have the one standard... :-)

Might be a stupid question but why is there not a universal API like DirectX in the PC world so that a game is written in DX and then works on nvidia, AMD, Intel, PowerVR, 3DFX, Matrox... Then it would just be a case of your phone will either run it smoothly or not.

It's a shame that Tegra 2 won't have the market penetration to show off its power but like Fuad said it would require a huge number of phones using this chip to be worthwhile making games for it, which is simply not going to happen. I wonder how Tegra 2 compares to the forthcoming 28nm Qualcomm MSM8960 chips, scalable to 5GHz and the GPU has the power of the PS3 or Xbox360!! http://www.trustedreviews.com/mobile-phones/news/2010/11/18/Qualcomm-Reveals-Next-Gen-Snapdragon/p1
