As a player of EU I can confirm the purchace price is correct. The whole 'game' is based on an economy in which everything has a value and players deposit (by choice) to trade, craft, hunt, mine etc Property may be in the form of land areas which incur taxes on loot found when hunting and mining - and this is the basis of profit return for this large purchase. Currently a player named Deathifier owns land purchased for 30k with a turn around of around 90k per annum. The asteroid (above purchase) was owned by John NEVERDIE Jacob who sold this and others portions of the asteroid for a total of 630k+. Sounds daunting, but with the economy system built in many some players make quite good returns.

If you had done your research you would have found that this "Entropia Universe" has an economy based on real money, so I assume there is a way for him to turn a profit. How much profit is another matter, but it is unlikely he splashed out 300k without doing the math.

It's only an investment if there is some way to turn a profit, which, in this case, there isn't. Motion pictures, MTV and "the Internet" were certainly not fads and all have clear ways to make money. TV channels were highly profitable long before MTV existed. Clearly more money than sense. I didn't even know Entropia Universe was Mac compatible.
