20 cores at 32nm is just rediculous, AMD will not get better than 1.5-2GHz at any sane TDP. Maybe at 22nm it might make sense. Alothough, don't forget this is 'Bulldozer' cores so its not 20 full cores as we know them now but closer to 10 cores but with certain parts doubled up. I know this is aimed at servers but wouldn't 10 cores at 4GHz be much better than 20 cores at 2GHz? Atleast most real world tasks? I know what i would go for but 95% of my programmes don't improve much after dual-core but 100% of my programmes eat up Ghz for breakfast!

Well, it was said by lots of teams that sponsorship sometimes comes in form of products, not necessarily money... so I suppose the computing tech is AMD based, hence the AMD logo.

Actually AMD don't pay for their Ferrari sponsorship exactly. Mubadala sponsors Ferrari and they own a big chunk of AMD and hence have a deal to place the AMD logo there to help their investment.

the 2de half of next year. which means that for about half a year at least Intel and AMD will have the same process node for their main products. this is only the 2de time in recent history that that has happened. and AMD doesn't expect to keep up, that's far to expensive. intel can do that because they can spread the costs over multiple factories making the cost savings worth while to switch early. AMD (or now GF) doesn't have that many factories... yet. they are gaining on Intel thou, because with that 2de and 3de fab coming on line soon (2012) it makes financial sense to switch over sooner, despite the added costs.
