nah, as i said earlier, if they want the trade mark they have to try and protect it. also for your 'scoogle to be correct... what is a google? goggle is a form of eyeware (relevant), also as they are pronounced differently there would be no issue, so scoggle would be a no issue. remeber when Apple tried to sue woolworths (a supermarket chain) for using an apple in their updated logo (also an Australian case)? did apple win? no. did it try to protect its trademark? yes. this is reasonably justified otherwise the consumer would get confused when similar trademarks and logos come into the market.

and on the other hand, a company based on a family named scougal wich sells sunglasses (goggles.. google).. wich names its brand scoogle. has every right to do so.. google patented etc the name google, not scoogle, and since this is a completely different kind of business (commercial retail vs online search engine) this is just a bully indeed, and i would seriously hate google if they keep up with this shit

Considering one is a technology company, and one is an eyewear company, what's the problem? I thought these kind of disputes only happened if the companies were competitors, I.E. Microsoft can't come out with a Scoogle search engine.

So basically anything with "oogle" is copywrited by google? I am pretty sure there are alot of companies that have similar names that appears BEFORE google's time (google is only 12 years old) and if they wanted to fight google using the same tactics then they have every right too. Double edge sword that could force google to change their name.

to be honest, Google has every right, this is not bullying. Under Australian law if a company fails to protect it's IPs and trademarks they (the IP and trademarks) are considered to be forfeited, and will no longer be enforced by the government. also this is clearly a case where they where trying to make the name sound ( i mean read like) like Google.
