For those UK reader with more money than sense: https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/Nvidia+GTX+500+Series/PALIT+Sonic+GeForce+GTX+580+OC+1536MB+GDDR5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=42497 GTX580, pre-overclocked from 772MHz to 835MHz for £409 inc VAT. Not too bad for an extra £20 over the ref clock which is £389 inc VAT. But anyone with sense really should be waiting for the 6970/6990, if nothing more it will bring the 580 price down but if you ask me, i know you would, then i think the 6970 will edge the GTX580 in most games and the 6990 will destroy the it!

I really can't believe that some of you nVidia fanboys are actually happy with the GTX580, its a pathetic excuse of a card. Let’s face it, TechPowerUp is about the only benchmark site that seems to be trustworthy and combining all the games they test the 580 is a painfully only 10-15% faster than the 480, depending on what resolution. That is a absolute joke! http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_580/27.html Yes its a little quieter and a little less power hungry but 15%, COME ON! A decent cooler and overclock would do better than that! Is this really all nVidia has got until Kepler in about 18 months? And it will be 18 months as 28nm is going to be a bitch and nVidia always need 2 or 3 re-spins.

@loadwick To see a graph of price history try streetprices.com http://www.streetprices.com/Computers/PC_Hardware/Video_Cards/Graphics_Cards/XFX-HD-597A-CNB9-SP41629407.html pricewatch.com used to do a similar thing, but they seem to have stopped a few years ago (or I can't figure out where it's hidden in that website).

Hi Guys, I was came across a website that 'tracked' the prices of computer compounds over the weeks and months so you could really see if you were getting a good deal at that time or if something had gone up in price and its best to wait as it will come back down etc. Anyone any idea what that site was? Thanks

It takes a partner to make up for what nvidia didn't do the past year, i.e. not screwing over the customers. I find it amazing that EVGA, one of the most respected companies in the field, and one which usually charges a premium for it's above-competition products, delivers to its users at the suggested price. Just WOW! You wouldn't see nvidia ever doing that... that is price Fermi in line with its shit performance. The screwing-customers business is not one I would stay long it if I were them, it's destined to fail at some point.
