Yep,i think they are still using the same gamebryo engine that was used as far back as Oblivion. They would be far better switching to the Cryengine for the next release if possible.

And yet, one forum goer on Bethesda's site identified 66 bugs within the game. I hardly think that's over exaggerated. I think part of the problem is NV is using the same engine as FO3, but saw little in the way of improvement. We're still playing with the same lousy models despite the numerous fan made improvements. The companion AI can be pretty bad. Oh, and detecting your video card by its name is bad too. If it doesn't know what card you have, it makes a guess; which can hurt your frame rate. (there's a player mod for this).

so true.. i just finished the force 2.. my god what a dissapointment.. at some point where you go into the fight with darth vader.. u realize.. wtf.. this is the end allready? ive been screwed ! (5 hours of gameplay... ) with little replay value on top, wich btw reminded me a LOT on MW2 singleplayer wich was a dissapointment too fallout NV has a high replay value, and several different ways of evolving the story as well i finished my first run now, and i havent seen half the world yet (explorer perk was like.. WTF theres so many places to visit still)

A lesson to the FPS developers out there.Just goes to show if you offer a game with 40-60 hours of sandbox/explore game play then the public are going to buy it far more than FPS shooters with loads of eye candy and just 6 hours of on rails only game play.

New Vegas was developed by OBSIDIAN with Bethesda overseeing the entire project as well as put up the big bucks to fund game development, it's a team effort which is why both Bethesda and OBSIDIAN are mentioned on the retail box. Bethesda has the sole rights to the game and the bank account!
