Just wish we could have some news from AMD on their new cards,...I mean if they know they are set to beat the GTX580 in terms of performance they can only gain now by saying so and pissing in Nvidia's beer....sort of a bit like Nvidia tried to pull the rug from under the 5000 by paper launching fermi.....if they come out with lesser performance than 580 now it will seem very underwhelming and like they have lost the lead they were developing :/

This is just a bunch of fud. Cayman will launch with no delay, and sad to say it will destroy Nvidia who could only show an average of 13% increase in performance with their new GTX 580 card. Since Cayman no doubt will be a solid and epic performer, well beyond the now a bit more proper Fermi. It does not however look so good for us consumers regarding prices in the high-end segment. But If Nvidia quicly lower their prices a great deal on the new GF110 card(s) they may after all come out of this alive, if they manage to stay competetive in the lower segments with the 580.

Cayman is on schedule for mid November regardless what any website claims. Once Cayman get's released, it will have NVIDIA's BBQ'ing GTX580 for lunch. Let's just hope the 580 can make for good competition so we can all enjoy a nice price reduction.

this article is difficult to believe for 2 reasons: 1)The TSMC 40nm process is VERY mature, so for problems to appear now, they must have seriously inept people working there 2)AMD is VERY experienced with designing architecture at 40nm and launched 2 generations successfully while Nvidia has only just now apparently figured it out with the 580. So for there to be problems, AMD would have had to seriously cock up the arch, which, with all their experience, is again very unlikely. But as always, I'll wait and see ;-)

Nvidia is yet again making another card that will crush Radeon/AMD in DX11 and tesselation. No comparison in those two categories with the fermi's on benchmarks. Nvidia has radeon beat before they even finish making their new one, and they know it, now they are back-peddling and going back to the drawing board (hence part of this article). If you AMD guys are lucky....you may get it as a x-mas present

Are you out of your mind? ATI's brand was and still is SOLID. Radeon continues the strong branding forward. Currently AMD is king of graphics, NVIDIA's been second place for well over a year now and this trend will continue for a long time. The 580 I have to admit will do a lot more then just gaming, more like cooking your burgers with a tadd of BBQ sauce...

1st. off this sounds Bogus. 2nd, TSMC sucks as of late. They had ages to resove any 40nm process issues, which again makes this sound Bogus. I'm getting a HD 6970 in late November, who's with me?
