" ... as Nvidia simply didn’t need that more power back in July time when it launched Geforce GTX 460 cards. Now, since they might need some more power, they simply enabled the eight SM unit. ..." Just change your name to dumbzilla.com ! YIELD - does that word ring any bells? Nvidia had to disable one SM because of the same reason they don't use all Stream processors on the GTX 480. As time goes by, and Nvidia finally manages the new process, yield increases. And so they can enable all SM / SP.

I also heard that NVIDIA had the GF104 running at 10Ghz but decided they didn't need to run it that fast since Gamers don't really care about performance. Right? Some of these articles are either troll bait, or paid PR releases. Maybe Bagdad Bob found a job at NVIDIA? I am sure NVIDIA is working on improved silicon, but there is no need to add such monumental editorialized load of bollocks. Just the facts, ma'am. Oh, that's right... you have no facts for this one.

This article makes no sense.... a "new GF104?" Are you talking about a respun GF104 or a new chip based on similar architecture to GF104? Or perhaps the same GF104 with all clusters enabled, in which case there's nothing "new" about it. Either way "new GF104" is a misnomer. The question however is if they could have released a fully enabled GF104 based card, why didn't they do so already? It could have easily competed with the 5850 and commanded much higher margins. Yields must be in the shitter or something.
