To JAB Creations I actually trust Asrock more than Asus. The Asrock gear is much more innovative and their drivers website works much better than Asus'. I too have had Asus boards die but not Asrock. One thing I don't like about Gigabyte is their placement of SATA ports on uATX boards - they're obscured by any dual-slot graphics card.

unless you have a spare socket 939 CPU and DDR stick lying around then I don't really see the point of this, if you're going to buy a new board then it may aswell be one of the cheaper models of the new 8 series chipsets, would be better overall performance

The great thing about Asus is that they have lots of great ideas. The awful thing about Asus is they don't stand by their products, their products don't last, and if they do honor an RMA they will send you used junk. Too bad this board isn't from Gigabyte, I've purchased four of their boards all the way back to socket 754 and they all still work! Several friends have had Asus boards die. ...oh and ASRock is a subsidy of Asus for those who might try to say this isn't an Asus board.

I'd buy one tomorrow - except it doesn't seem to be offered in the US. I've had a search on eBay for over a year, hits are rare and what's offered isn't worth the cash.

AGP is for low performance cards. A Radeon HD 5670 is as fast as a GeForce 8800 GT, a card that has been in the market for years now and not a single AGP version.

Yeah, you and a lot of us as well... but think of it, mainboards die much faster than CPUs. I like the move. It would also be nice to see some HD5600 AGP cards for those that still have working AGP mainboards. Would make a nice upgrade for cheap.
