yea that's what i've said several several times now, even though it's just my opinion, but good job with making it into a story about a chubby guy maybe people will finally listen. The complex shader was not effective at all, and that is supposed to do all the heavy duty work, could explain the bad Crossfire performance too. This is indeed an exciting launch when we see actual results.

I think they have more efficient stream units in 4xN, where N are equal ALUs, compared to Evergreen with 5xN, where 4 are equal and the 5th is a complex ALU, i.e. fat and lazy. This might benefit users going for 1GHz+, knowing from previous generations that going over 1GHz was useless from a performance standpoint since gains were barely visible. Now, I think the stream units will be happy to work better even over 1GHz, getting rid of the chubby guy falling behind.

"The launch is next Friday, October 22nd, and this card fights the slower version of Geforce GTX 460 with 768MB just fine. It should be slightly faster, but again we expect it will cost more." So AMD is going to launch a new card to compete with the GTX 460 without offering a better performance/price ratio, and in spite of much lower production costs? Sorry Fuad, I don't buy this one.
