It's not the 1Ghz processor that counts, its the GPU. Look at the HTC Desire Z, why do you think they went back to 800Mhz?. The 1Ghz phones were getting are all Androids which lack OpenGL so everything is on the CPU, windows mobile 7 has GPU support from the outset.

Nowadays, U can see any smartphone launched with much hyped 1GHz processor but still slow in playing web contents, can't optimize run on DivX & other popular codec... I think these issues are inherited to win phone as well. The other sensitive part is: how well it will handle java apps?

I think the main problem here is drivers, and Microsofts WHQL support of forcing everyone to use certin hardware. Shame really as the Humming bird processor is the fastest on the market bar none. Till Tegra 2 in the Q1 or even early Q2 to show up.

I seem to agree with most here, I find pointless to force people to use the QSD8520 which is outdated compared to Samsung's Hummingbird (65nm QSD vs 45nm Hummingbird), not to mention Samsung's chip support PowerVR 535 and 540 graphics vs the 530 on QSD. Honestly this is a cheap move, but we'll see. If that LG phone (the cheap looking one) does indeed use Tegra2 then bingo! as the best smartphone around (ironically)

Funny every website says that it is a snap dragon processor rather then the tegra 2. Also WP7 has no multi tasking so that would make it run smooth.
