I would never agree to trust a new disk/SSD drive with my precious data. I never understood the great unwashed who are owestruck by new storage devices just because they are new, have better performance or better price. Must wait a few months and hear reliability data - which unfortunately is difficult to come by. The vendors learned the trick in the last few years - a new revision every 3-4 months: "Oh, you complain that the current piece is either bricked or just stutters? here is a new, shinier and better version for you. Sorry, we don't support the old product any more..". Much more cost effective than going through robust dev engineering practice and extensive QA.

confirmed by xbitlabs posting: " Based on a SandForce controller, Onyx 2 delivers up to 270MB/s read speed, up to 265MB/s write speed, and up to 10 000 random write IOPS (4k aligned). The Onyx 2 SSDs are available in 120GB and 240GB capacities " Don't think it would make me give up my 60 gig vertex 2 extended, but 2 of these raid 0'ed on a Intel board would preform nice.

Holy crap! that's less than $2/GB for the 240 GB drive and ALMOST $1.50/GB for the 120GB drive! Here's to hoping that these prices are accurate! But... Those prices look whack, especially the Euro/Dollar Conversions. "The 120GB is listed with a price tag set at €179,90 or US $189.99, while the 240GB can be found listed at €209,90 or US $439.99"? 16% difference in Euro price = over 100% difference in Dollar price?
