If you don't know what it means, then it doesn't apply to you. People in the US know what CDMA is, because some companies use it. Other companies use GSM, as well as most of the rest of the world. So if you don't know about it, it is likely that it isn't in your country, and will not matter. These stories about a CDMA iphone are mostly big news for america as it means that people would be able to buy an iphone for Verizon, which is basically the best choice carrier. It's likely this is being done because android was gaining too much market, with some being CDMA capable, thus verizon people (of which there are many) who wanted a smartphone, would be getting an android (well, or blackberry).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA Code division multiple access (CDMA) is a channel access method used by various radio communication technologies. It allows several transmitters to send information simultaneously over a single communication channel. This allows several users to share a band of frequencies (see bandwidth). This concept is called multiplexing. CDMA employs spread-spectrum technology and a special coding scheme (where each transmitter is assigned a code) to allow multiple users to be multiplexed over the same physical channel. I didn't know what CDMA was so i guess lots of other people don't either, so I posted this!
