And by then , AMD would have switched to , AMD Radeon HD II 297 , why not ? 40x the speed , in what ? Memory speeds ? and 40x the HEAT ?! Could be worse , 40x the noise of the stock fan . And by then AMD would have made their stuff 120x better then 5k series , if nvidia even done 20x .

I think it is an overstatement. Fact: From 2010 to 2013 they can make only 4 generations max. Then in order for Maxwell to be 40 times faster each generation must be 2.5 times faster than the previous one. (2.5^4 = 39,06...) If they make 3 generations (seems most likely) then each generation has to be 3.4 times faster than the previous one.(3.4^3 = 39.3...) Probably Maxwell will be 5-6 times faster than fermi (if each generation is like 80% faster than the previous one). Maybe they are refering to DP performance and not overall performance but think: Fermi is only 5-6 times faster in DP performance than gt200b which was not even designed for DP

Why is everyone excited about Maxwell? AMD HD 5870 has 11,5-14.47 GFlops per watt right now. What is going on here? So nVidia will catch up to AMD 5xxx series in 2013? Wow, that's sad. Also, 28nm nVidia is coming in the second half of 2011, Q4 is likely, don't expect anything earlier. AMD is going to release 28nm in Q3 2011 or even earlier, ahead of nVidia.

did i get this right? kepler and maxwell gives x4 perfomance per watt each. So for Maxwell we get x16 perfomance/watt and x40 perfomance of Fermi? Does that mean that the new Maxwell will have a 625(40/16x250W) TDP? nnnnice 4-slot cooling solutions FTW

How much of nV's promises were kept ? Let's see... - promised performance of Fermi - FAILED - promised specs of Fermi - FAILED - promised availability - FAILED - promised performance / watt for Tesla - FAILED - promised various features support in drivers - FAILED They even failed to show the new card and faked it. So I'm really sorry if I don't believe anything from them right now.

I am making a counter-announcement on behalf of AMD. I am announcing that the new AMD chip will be 80 times faster than Fermi and will be produced on 12nm process, and you can take that to the bank! It will be available in 2012 or however long it will take for people to forget I made this promise.
