if this design works it will be a game changer I think, since it should be much more effective than intel's hyperthreading. At the very least it'll finally have AVX compatibility and all those SSE instructions they've been lacking. Can't wait to get one! Hopefully they still have an ace up their sleeve they are keeping secret to surprise everyone with.

The difference is that no-one was really expecting that much from Barcelona and leaks immediately sprung, exposing the PR drivel as just that (drivel). All the reasonably well-founded rumours suggest that AMD are justly confident and that Bulldozer (and Ontario & Zacate - less so Llano) will be very fast indeed.

They were haoppy with Barcelona and we all know how that one turned out to be... ;-) GPU wise, I have no doubdt that AMD delivers on its promise (even exceeds it), but CPU wise, I'd be very, very cautious since I've got burned before with the "40% better performance than Core2". It's up to them to deliver this time around and redeem their selves from this mess.

My guess is Sever / Workstation launch right at the end of March, so they can say they launched in Q1. Desktop will come mid Q2. Everything I hear suggests that AMD are very happy so far and will launch as soon as they're satisfied with yields.
