Still, graphics will suck on this one also, so why should we care? Remember, it's not all about the CPU this time around, it's the whole package that counts (APU-wise).

22nm Atom will be fine... But have you heard about Bulldozer III on 15nm, coming in H2 2017? Inside sources tell us that napkin sketches have already started for this game-changer chip.

Problem with that is, Peter, back then the internet was a hype, right now Atom's aren't. And people already "scoffed" at the netbook market thinking they'll get a decent "notebook" for cheap and as it turns out, most of them regretted the move to Atom. While Atom is a good chip for routers, nas, and other niche markets, I doubt it will do much in the future, no matter how much money intel has.

I think the history is just going to repeat itself. Remember those days when Netscape topping the browser popularity? Then come the inexperienced but rich, resourceful Microsoft with the IE 2.x, 3.x and not too long after that IE took over the browser empire. Now these may appear on the loosely coupled ARM alliance. Intel got the money & resource to repeat what Microsoft did. You can scoff at Intel's presence in embedded market now but don underestimate it.

Fusion is more promising than Atom right now. I bet with fusion chips on netbooks you could play at 1280x768 all the old games (before 2006) while having decent cpu performance.
