Well 80% scaling in mid range cards is quite common nowdays. Even 5770 manages an 70-80% scaling. In fact crossfire is only a bit inferior than sli and as the time goes by both ati and nvidia approach 80-90% scaling. Remember 3870x2 which had like terrible scaling and was sometimes slower than a single 3870?

It might make more sense to buy a hotter running, louder, and more power hungry card the market has to offer only if you shop for nVidia this generation around, mr. Simic. It might not make that much sense if you shop for the better card.

of course, dickheads here would love to disagree with my last sentence by hitting the dredded red button....you guys are [censored]ing lame. A god damn statement saying that I may use this for a cheaper build that I'm working on...why would it be called a cheap tower if you put something like a 59xx card or a GTX 480? Cheap as in a comp that I need to do a specific task and not be my workhorse....lame asses. oh...is this place...biased towards Nvidia too? That's pretty sad if you ask me. at least I can say that I actively use both although they're old now (a 4970 and a GTS250)

It's kind of fudzilla -style to make failed nvidia card to seem like a great deal :). GTS 450 is inferior to similarly priced HD5770 and I expect HD5750/HD5770 prices come tumbling down soon enough. Good effort from nvidia but AMD took this round.

To be honest the GTS 450 is underwhelming compared to even older G92, R770, and GT200 much less up against GF104. The GTX 460 1gb is a better buy in the end then two GTS 450 and will only appeal to those who don't have the cash for any thing better than this or the 5770. Also I am tired of the fanboys still raving on and on about the 5770 being the best thing since usb stick to ever grace the computing world. -_- I never really like fanboys that much but guilty of the same but only a moderate compared to the nut jobs. At least this isn't like some of us had to live through in the late 90s.

MILTIPLE NVIDIA CARDS ARE MORE RELEVENT TO CUDA APPLICATIONS THAN SLI.ANY OLD X8 OR x16 PCIE SLOTS WILL DO.WITH SLI YOU NEED A COMPATABLE MOTHERBOARD FOR SLI AND THEY ARE NOT AS COMMON AS CROSSFIRE BOARDS.ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AN AMD PROCESSOR.BEST TO JUST GET 1 POWERFULL CARD THAN COMPLICATE THINGS WITH MULTIPLE CARDS.

A GTS450 SLI is close to a GTX470 while a HD5770 crossfire is closer to a HD5870. So the HD5770 > GTS450 SLI (though a couple of $ more expensive). Even so, I don't think Crossfire or SLI is relevant to the vast majority of gamers...
