What a dumb@$$ article! The world is suppose to end in 2012 and so is the graphics card?!!! Isn't AMD releasing new cards "This month"?!! So in 14 months the whole entry level discrete market will die? Including AMD's? Bwahahaah!!! Who writes this $h!t but a dumb@a$$?!! Better yet, who believes it but a dumb@$$?!! AMD may not make anymore entry level GCs and just give that market to Nvidia. AMD makes $h!tty chips, so EXPECT this to be slow in "real world" gaming applications. The console is laughing its @$$ off!

@ Adrian, Where the heck in my post do you come away with the opinion that I wish nVidia ill? Because I sure didn't say it anywhere in there. Point of fact, I have always favored nVidia products over AMD/ATI ones. Maybe you should stop trying to read into statements for more than what's actually being said, because you're terrible at it. All I did was point out that you completely missed the POINT of the article.

@Scootiep I think you fitt perfectley in this category ,you didn't even bother to read other comments on this article .My remarks are aimed at those who announced/hoped Nvidia's fall ,whici in my opinion is a realy stupid whish from every point of view ,especially for AMD users wich without a serious competitor would end up in several months with mediocre products ,a natural efect if consumers have no choice the producers rests on sure profits.

I've been dabbling with off-line 3D for 15 years or so. Yes, new GPUs pack quite a punch, but they're still a long way from replacing CPUs and in many cases they don't even complement them, as quite a few apps and plugins just can't put them to good use. For example, a lot of people will use Quadros in their workstations, but trust me, you'd be surprised to see what most people use in their rendering farms...

"Most analysts predict that by 2012 entry the level discrete graphics will be mostly gone." Well - most analysts predicted eternal growth just weeks before the tech market collapsed in 2001. And rated Lehman Brothers "strong buy" days before they got bankrupt. Those prigs understand as much about future/technology as I understand about knitting.

Comenters here are realy STUPID ,now why was Jaberwocky downranked ,what he is stating is real ,and indeed nvidia is far superior in this field ,and that is why Intel is against them ,instead of using 10 core i7 cpu's to render a image now an inteligent user can do it whit only 2 gtx 480 that cost as much as one i7 980.AMD is far from this ,they are good only for gaming ,never buissines .Fudzila may have bene bether without the stupid coments . REMEMBER THIS :you may play youre games on AMD hardware but the majority of them are made using Nvidia hardware.
