Errors: Sandy Bridge is shipping in Q4 '10, launch is in Q1 11. Haswell is not until the very end of 2012 / beginning of 2013. @Bernard Yes, actually Llano is positioned against Sandy Bridge 1155. Bulldozer gets to fight Sandy Bridge socket 2011, although the way BD keeps slipping...

People do keep on forgetting about GPGPU, which isn't a good sign... I think that, if Adobe and Corel release their GPGPU enabled software (which they appear to be enthusiastic about), Llano will start to make more sense. Same goes for GPGPU heavy websites and so on. If this takes a long time, Llano will mostly appeal to gamers and some (tech savvy) students at first I fear.

Llano is not supposed to fight against Sandy Bridge. The CPU part in SB is two generations ahead of the CPU part of Llano. SB will be much more expensive than Llano. But Llano will be "good" enough", like the current AMD CPUs. However, Intel's lead over AMD seems to be lenghtening, as AMD can't keep up with Intel's unrelentless tick-tock release pattern.
