Releasing a 1.5 Android device now is beyond a joke. You would have thought dell would have learned from the streak. People don't want to be sitting on such an old version of Android. I mean, it's not like it would cost them anything to stick on a newer version. By the way this also goes for the X10 which plan sucks. That is not a good phone and was 1 year to late. SE dropped the ball on it big time to. I just hope they don't [censored] up the PSP Phone.

There is quite a market for a cheap Android phone. I know a few people trying to get a new phone right now and want Android, but don't want to spend hundreds or be locked into a £35/mo contract to get it. The best you can do for the most part is the HTC Wildfire at £230, but this has a very low resolution and is still too expensive for most people. Android 1.5 and 1.6 are still quite popular. Android 2.2 is relatively rare. I have a Sony x10 and it's still on 1.6, even though 2.2 was released at about the same time as it. At the time of its release it was just about the best Android phone you could get for hardware specs. http://developer.android.com/resources/dashboard/platform-versions.html
