As far as I know, flags are not under copyright protection and places like Siena is open to public. GT5 is the best and biggest racing game ever created and Italians should be more than happy to be included in that game. If they are so offended by the usage of their flags in a game, they should have their city removed from the map. Note: There were Turkish flags in Assassins Creed which are misused, Turkish flag was accepted in 1922, therefore the flags used in the game presents a different time. None of the Turkish officials out-cried for that. I'm personally glad to see Turkish flag in that game, even though our people showed as enemies.

That's because you don't know what happens in Siena (it's siena, not sienna, at least in italian). There's a HUGE rivalry between districts, if there was a flag and there wasn't the one of the direct rival, the latter would protest heavily. I don't see the people there giving a lot of importance to gt5 but they would surely feel offended, at least some of them. Every year in siena a horse race is held between districts, and there's fanaticism, the districts who wins celebrates like if it won a world cup, or a hundred year long war.
