Wow, 80.7 is a nasty digit for AMD to swallow. It use to be neck and neck back then. Gaining 0.3 percent is a bit sad considering it might go down tomorrow. Now stuff those laptop and netbook with more AMD.

As do I. I really wouldn't mind a third x86 competitor at all. The netbook market seems excellent for VIA, but their presence there unfortunately isn't great at all.

Well the share is usually 80:20 in Intel's favor... So everything basically revolves around a few percent. AMD did quite well in mobile, but they lost a lot of ground in the server market. Hopefully Bulldozer will help out. And yup, it's really nice to see VIA doing better. I hope they find a niche market to thrive in, i.e. netbooks and tablets...

Whoa, 0.3 percent? :P I know it has its impact, but isn't this close enough to zero to call things "steady"? I guess there's more to say when you look at things closely, I suppose AMD's strong mobile line up compensates for its loss in the desktop and server areas. It's very nice to hear that VIA's doing okay though, that company has been very silent lately. I also wonder what things will look like in a year from now, with all the new stuff coming. ARM Eagle, Fusion chips, Sandy Bridge, Bulldozer... Interesting times indeed.
