Carl Icahn was not able to monopolize Yahoo out of the picture completely though we're now down from three search engines to two here in the US. As a web designer/developer I don't count something like HotBot or Lycos as a search engine, they simply outsource results from Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo. A search engine is defined as running it's own spider to crawl the web. Yahoo will be out of commission in regards to search for TEN years. I don't expect Yahoo to seriously return to doing search after ten years. The damage has been done and communism wins another round.
