No, BS is supporting a product that has no place. And that's what you're eating. Don't compare the versatile PC with a device that can do just one thing good while anything else mediocre at best. Oh... you BS side of story? I get it.

sarcasm only works if it has a point. i dont really see any point to yours, all you're saying is this is too powerful for mobile chips. you dont know crap about the limitations yet so that just pure speculation which again no valid point for your sarcasm, you're just talking bs. that's like saying that all the quad-cores when they flooded the market for PC's are worthless and useless. Yet many people found uses for it when they could have done the same thing with dual-cores. Everyone else just has to catch up. So if you wanna stick with same old same old go ahead.. I like to see innovation and whether it works well or not is up to the company to implement. As of now more apps are still being optimized for multithreadedin g on PC as a result of the quad-cores, but some made good use of it.

@blandead, it's not hard... just inconvenient and impractical to play it from such a device, which by all means probably won't support all high quality profiles for the AVC standard so you can kiss that BluRay/x264 payback goodbye. If it's YouTube kind of HD, with low complexity that yeah, it might work. Never-mind that there are portable solutions from WDC for example, pretty much the size of a MyBook with remote and they play HD media unlike any other mobile chip would. Regarding the folding, it was sarcasm... you should start learning what that is before commenting me again! It was done in the light of ever growing power of the mobile chip which is no worthy substitute for older, less-powerful chips.

uh... you stick a .mkv or .mp4 on a flash stick... and put it in the phone... then an hdmi into a tv. I don't get how this is complicated to you. why are you even talking about folding on a phone? what in the world does ipad have to do with this? what?? if you read the ipad reviews u should know why it never gets out of the house

If they manage to get that dual core into mobile devices. Don't you think they haven't thought of the problem? Like an Intel CPU, it should overclocked itself only when needed, much like our current Snapdragon. There's no doubt that there will be better battery option if these would of make it into the next gen phone.

This is plain stupid, more room for shit coding. Sorry guys but the the iPhone (unfortunately) is the most fluid experience and it did it through a 600Mhz CPU. Stick to 1Ghz and single cores, 60nm>45>32nm will bring enough performance and battery savings. What we need are powerful graphics processing units. PowerVR SGX540+ needs to become the minimum whilst single core 1GHZ cpu's become the standard.

BTW, I don't mind thumb downs... so I don't need to meditate, unlike others. But nice to see you care... /sarcasm again Bottom line is, I want my phone to be a phone first and then anything else they advertise. I don't mind this being in a tablet but seeing how not even the average apple fan gets their iPad out of the house, never-mind the non-apple fan, combined with the fact that there are and will be better HD Media carriers out there, make these features useless. I doubt someone will use such a device to fold and crunch numbers, or as a media hub when they don't even have sufficient memory for storing HD content. And at what TDP envelope? They can do all of those sinkless or strapped to LN2? Remember the iPad vs Flash? Yeah... my though exactly.

Dude, dude what? / My thoughts exactly, wtf. try meditating that the red is all green and everyone loves whatever you say all the time. I was being sarcastic... harsher than usual to a post not related to the subject and not backed up by anything, not even dumb silicondocish ramble. While idling and downclocking is nice and fun, when not doing those it will draw more power than current devices without actually bringing a clear benefit for the user. Like faster so called "finger benchmarks" when the average user won't hardly see any difference. The unbenefits are there. 1080p for what? Does it get bundled with a bluray drive as well? Otherwise, those 1080p will be YouTube's 1080p and they suck! As in low-profile-not-real-AVC suck!

My thoughts exactly, wtf. try meditating that the red is all green and everyone loves whatever you say all the time. on that note... this new snapdragon looks awesome. it says it will idle/downclock so I don't see how that will waste batteries when not doing much and if you wanna watch a 1080P movie at friends TV it will kick in full force how is that a bad thing?
