Eyefinity users are bailing ati and heading on over to NVIDIA SURROUND, and buying up GTX260's, 275's, 280's and 285's as well as both flavors of the 460, since NVidia Surround works so much better than eyefinity.... I've seen it on a dozen popular forums now. The 5000 series is dead. Eyefinity is DEAD.

It can't possibly be as bad as Cat 10.5 and 10.6, or can it ? I've already seen dozens of problems posted in between a few untested victories. Anyone else wonder why ATI cards need dotnet 2.0 and many flavors of C++ installed, plus former drivers removed before the new monthly update screws it all up again, while with NVIDIA your told to just install right over the top and the new driver directory is made next to old ones and away you go without dotnet and C++ ? Why does ATI need OTHER COMPANIES additional softwares to even function ? Why are they SUCH a LEECH ?

this is very hurtful! "but it’s only supported by new Radeon HD 5000 Series cards." as per release notes of 10.7**, 4000 series is supported. and not only 5000. this is not excepted!!! "You can get the new drivers here, although you would be better off with a beach towel and some wet, salty sand under your toes." might i ask y??? this donot read professional to me....shame on u **https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/Catalyst_107_release_note s.pdf

GPU acceleration is definitely working, benchmarked it on a 720p MKV video clip, without it enabled GPU usage is at 40% and with it enabled it steps upto 60% although when it's turned off the video still remains smooth at 24fps (must just be my good enough setup, should really try it on a weak PC with a supported GPU). With a decent build you probably won't need the feature but for HTPC users, you could buy a cheap Sempron or Pentium and have a HD 5450 or even use the onboard 4200 GPU on the AMD 785G or 800 series motherboards and still get super smooth 1080p video, I love the way simple features like this are being brought by AMD and VideoLAN and are helping the consumers save a bit of money.
