Well I think that they'll use single PCB design. Should be easier to do than with GTX 295. GTX 460 cards are really short. Reference design has the same lenght as HD5770 and some non-reference designs are even shorter.

So with the GTX460 768 and 1G stomping the 5850, approaching the 5870, and OC'ing and SLI scaling to the outer limits- this full version coming will bring shame down on ati's outdated multi-clone of the HD2900 architecture 5000 series. AMD/ATI lost money again in Q2, and now Q3 has ati losing even more. If you don't have a 30 inch 2560x1680 monitor you're a FOOL buying 5850 or 5870 now since the GTX460 DOMINATES everything below the highest resolution across the board.

Clearly they wasn't ready with Fermi and they made due and sold what they could get away with until this this new chip was ready. Just my opinion

I guess these are the two cards that will be sandwhiched together to make GTX295 Fermi equivilant. too bad we won't be seeing a GTX 485 since clusters are maxed. Honestly I think their GF100 architecture would be great on 28nm process. If it solved all the heating problems and brought the temps down to 70C on max load while not having much noise it would overclock great. We saw how good Fermis improve from overclocking no matter what kind. GF100 design too early to try to put it on 40nm. It was like the first Phenom but on 65nm. Potential was there, but too limited, now on 45nm and optimized a bit its pretty darn good. I expect this might be their answer for next gen 28nm thats what I would do anyway unless they have an even better architechture design

For the same reason why GTX 465 loses against GTX 460 1GB..despite 465 has more shaders: It's clocked higher. -- If they'd use this kind of specs: Core: 750MHz Shaders: 1500MHz Memory: 1050MHz (4200MHz effective) ---- -With these specs it would have about 6% higher shader performance -Equal pixel fillrate -Would simply murder GTX 470 in texture fillrate (GTX 460 is already better than GTX 470 in this) -Equal memory bandwidht -Smaller amount of vram ---- With this kind of specs the best possible names for this new card: GTX 470+ > GTX 470 > GTX 475.
