Llano cores will be more like Athlon than Phenom in that they are not supposed to have L3 cache. Looking at TDPs for energy efficient Athlon and Phenom X4 processors, the L3 cache alone seems to amount to a 20W increase in TDP. So 45W (Propus EE) => less than 10W/core? with 32nm, improved power saving, lower clocks.

Blobb3r, Thuban cores aren't that hungry. Remember there's six of them on a die, and some Thubans take only 95W, so that should be about 10 - 15W per core (due to uncore and L3) and that's on 45nm and at 2.8 GHz. Llano will be 32nm, likely lower clocked, have four cores max and feature new power saving techs like power gating and a depopulated clock grid. AMD said it'll be thin & light: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/03/03-11-10ontario.jpg Anyway, Faud was probably mixing up Sabine and Brazos. He really should check his data. Sabine is for Thin&Light & heavier notebooks, will have Llano (32nm). Brazos is for ultrathin & netbooks, will have Ontario (40 or 28nm). Lynx is for desktop, will have Llano. Scorpius is desktop, will have Zambezi.

Anybody stopped to think that Fuad might not be right? Lynx is a Desktop platform, while Brazos is a ultra-thin notebook platform. They are worlds apart. Also Llano APU in Sabine can't be thin and light as it's based on Thuban cores which as we know are power hungry cores, better suited for Notebooks that sit on desks plugged to the mains. Probably Brazos uses two APUs? One for ultra thin, which is Ontario made out of the Bobcat core (1>10W per core) and Thin and light which would be more power hungry and uses improved Thuban cores. The end of the article says it...

That's funny cause AMD explicitly stated that the Brazos platform used an Ontario APU: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/03/03-11-10ontario.jpg
