What's wrong with communism? It's only killed a hundred million people, it deserves another chance! In all seriousness I have an AMD X3 720. I'd like to go to six cores as I actually am utilizing those resources for browser testing and virtualization almost every single day. However I'll wait until they've gotten to a more matured process plus 32nm so I'm waiting until they hit 32nm.

Incorrect info on the Asus boards, guys, or at least mine; I've got an M3N-HT Deluxe (780a SLI), and it was updated immediately for the Thubans and (I just checked) the 95W core is supported by that update. Keep checking back, especially on the premium boards' BIOS updates. Asus won't disappoint.

@dkyeager, most DDR2 mobos from ASUS got their BIOS updates on hold, since 2009. I doubt they will update them any time soon, maybe one more update, but that might be it. I still have my 780G one and was thinking of putting that X4 955 95W one comming out.

I think it's the best bang-for-buck CPU on the market at the moment. It costs just €180, but AMD's motherboards are also significantly cheaper than comparable Intel designs, so the platform cost is a lot lower than anything Intel has to offer...

While this could be great news for many owners of amd socket motherboards in the last few years, it will be limited by bios support. For example, even the 125watt version is not supported by asus in its fx790 motherboard, the m3a79-T Deluxe, which is a year or two old. Then we also have the example of the 95watt 955, which even has a part number, now due sometime before 12-31-2010.

Werd. Definitely in the market for a 1055t, will wait for this 95W one. Wonder if this will net a >100MHz overclock over the previous versions?
