The R6300 and R6200 routers and A6200 USB WiFi adapter

Following up on its promise to deliver 802.11ac products in May, Netgear has now officially shed some light on its entire lineup, the R6300 802.11ac WiFi Router, the R6200 WiFi Router and A6200 WiFi USB adapter. Although it was beaten to the market by Buffalo, Netgear has launched a complete lineup including two routers and a USB A6200 WiFi adapter.

We already wrote about the R6300 router here, so we'll cover just the basics. The R6300 is a dual-band WiFi router that provides speeds of up to 450Mbps over 2.4GHz or up to 1300Mbps over 5GHz band. It is, of course, backward compatible with 802.11abgn standards and feature a pair of USB 2.0 ports in case you want to connect your printer or an external USB hard drive.

Another addition is the R6200 WiFi router that can achieve speeds of up to 900MHz over 5GHz band or up to 300Mbps over 2.4GHz band and has pretty much the same features and specs as the R6300.

The last, but not the least, is the A6200 USB WiFi adapter. This one is unfortunately based on USB 2.0 standard which somewhat will hamper the actual benefits of the 802.11ac but it will provide much better speeds that what you are seeing on USB WiFi adapters today. Netgear is also preparing a MiniPCI Express adapters for notebooks and we are sure that we'll see some other products as well.

The entire lineup should be available on retail/e-tail shelves as of this week with a price set at US $199.99 for the R6300, US $179.99 for the R6200 and US $69.99 for the A6200 WiFi adapter.
